Castles and The Capital of an Empire
Today you are going to visit two gorgeous towns: Peñafiel and Valladolid. Peñafiel will blow your mind with its magnificent castle and its curious main square. Valladolid is an interesting city, one of the first to have a university in Spain, it is also the city where Christopher Columbus lived his last years and, during the 17th century, was the capital of the Spanish Empire. Peñafiel Castle
The original castle is from the 10th century, but the actual appearance is from the 15th century. It is so well-preserved that you will feel like in time travel.

This is one of the biggest and older Plaza Mayor in Spain, and it has the same name since the 14th century. The Town Hall is located here, in a building from the 19th century.
If you like it during the day, you can return at night and see it illuminated, it is gorgeous.

Fachada De La Universidad
It is one of the oldest universities in Spain, it was founded in 1241! And it is located in an awesome building. It is not possible to visit the inside, but just the outside worth the visit. The baroque facade, from the 18th century, is an art work.

Palacio de Santa Cruz
