    Roman Aqueduct of Barbegal

    History
    Roman remains can be found throughout this area of France. The first stop - and a chance to stretch your legs - is the ancient Aqueduc Romain de Barbegal. Located near Fontvielle, this site is just a short walk from the car park and can be seen from a variety of walking and hiking trails.

    Chapelle Saint-Gabriel de Tarascon

    History
    The next stop on our nature route is the Chapelle Saint-Gabriel de Tarascon - a lovely 12th century Romanesque chapel surrounded by olive groves.
    The chapel itself is closed to the public but you can stroll the grounds and walk amongst the trees. On summer Saturdays, take full advantage of the rich farming history of this area by reserving a spot to walk in nature with donkeys.

    Saint-Rémy-de-Provence

    History
    Next up is the quaint little town of Saint-Remy-de-Provence. Spend some time shopping for local products and meandering the streets of the historic center.
    Fun fact: Vincent Van Gogh was once a patient at an asylum in Saint-Remy. Some of his most well known works were painted here. The Starry Night, painted in 1889, features the town. Can you see from where he got his inspiration?
    There are several free and paid car parks south of the historic center for easy walking into downtown.

    Alpilles Museum

    History
    One of the main attractions of Saint-Remy is the Musee des Alpilles. Learn about the history of Saint-Remy and its people, in this museum housed in the historic Hôtel Mistral de Mondragon. The building was once a private home and is a work of art in itself.
    The museum is open everyday of the week 10am-6pm and is closed on Mondays. The entrance fee is 5 Euros and children under 18 are free.
