Walk through Pennsylvania history in Gettysburg and Pittsburgh
Learn more about the history of Pennsylvania at two cities key to this country's formation: Gettysburg and Pittsburgh.
A morning stop in Gettysburg will leave you with a better understanding of the 1863 Battle of Gettysburg. The Battle of Gettysburg is often described as a turning point in the Civil War, as it was here that the Union army was able to halt the Confederate's attack on the North.
After that, head to Pittsburgh, where you'll learn more about the city's food, art, and history.
Before visiting the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, be sure to reserve tickets in advance.

More Pittsburgh and a Small Pennsylvania Town
Half a day isn't enough for Pittsburgh, the second most populous city in Pennsylvania.
Spend your second day here learning more about Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania history. Then, visit the Andy Warhol Museum to see the works of the pop art icon. Cap off your day with a ride on an old wooden cable car at the Duquesne Incline. At the top of the incline, you'll get spectacular views of the Pittsburgh cityskape.
Before you head home, you'll make a stop in another small Pennsylvania town for dinner.
